Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

1. Introduction

GoodWatch is a kids streaming service that provides age-appropriate video content for children. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our service.

Because our service is designed for children, we take their privacy especially seriously. The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) sets the standard for how children's information should be handled, and we have built our data practices around its core principles: collecting as little information as possible, keeping parents and guardians in control of their child's account, and never using children's data for targeted advertising.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following information:

Account information: When you sign up, we collect your email address to create and manage your account.

Onboarding preferences:During our onboarding survey, we collect information such as your child's age range and content preferences to personalize their viewing experience. This information is provided by the parent or guardian setting up the account.

Usage data: We collect information about how the service is used, including pages visited and features accessed, to improve the experience.

Payment information: Payment details are collected and processed directly by Stripe. We never store your full card number, CVV, or other sensitive payment data on our servers.

3. Children's Privacy

GoodWatch is intended to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian on behalf of their children. Account creation, subscription management, and preference settings are all performed by an adult.

We design the service to collect as little information about children as possible. The content preferences and age range gathered during onboarding are provided by the parent or guardian and are used only to recommend age-appropriate content. We do not use children's information for targeted advertising, and we do not allow third parties to do so.

We are actively strengthening our parental consent and verification practices for services used by children. If you have questions about how your child's information is handled, or you believe we have collected information from a child in a way you did not authorize, please contact us at help@goodwatch.com and we will address it promptly.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide and personalize the streaming experience, including recommending age-appropriate content based on the preferences you set during onboarding.

Manage your subscription and process payments through Stripe.

Send important account-related communications such as subscription confirmations, billing updates, and service announcements.

Improve our service, content library, and user experience.

5. Analytics and Advertising

We use Mixpanel to understand how parents and guardians interact with our service. This helps us improve the user experience.

We use Meta Pixel solely in connection with marketing and advertising flows directed at parents and guardians — for example, on our marketing pages and during the signup and checkout process. It is not used within children's profiles, and we do not use it to track children's viewing activity. We never use children's personal information for targeted advertising.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Stripe for payment processing. Your payment information is handled directly by Stripe under their own privacy policy.

Mux for video streaming delivery. Mux processes video playback data to deliver content reliably.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) for secure data storage and hosting infrastructure.

Sentry for error monitoring to help us fix technical issues quickly.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including SSL/TLS encryption to protect your personal information in transit. Access to user data is restricted and monitored.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription and request deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you.

Request correction of inaccurate information.

Request deletion of your data.

Opt out of non-essential communications.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at help@goodwatch.com

10. Cookies

We use cookies to maintain your session and remember your preferences. Analytics cookies help us understand service usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect service functionality.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes via email or through our service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
